7/28/2023 0 Comments Laguna revo 1836I have plans to upgrade everything to high end when I retire but that's a ways off yet. Note that this machine will probably be in my shop 10 years or more. but is it ~$600 (~30%) nicer? Also, a lot of the improvements come by way of add-ons, so the difference in price could end up being $1000 or more. I think I am leaning more towards the Grizzly, but would love for someone to chime in and tell me why that's a good or a bad idea. Grizzly is of course positioned as heavy-duty-with-fewer-frills and Laguna is a lot more aimed at the Cadillac crowd. I'm a big fan of both brands, and I have machines from each of them in my shop already. They seem to have pretty similar feature sets, with the Laguna having a couple of notable upgrades over the Grizzly. I'm not quite ready to upgrade the lathe, but it's on the horizon and these are the two models I'm considering: With every single major tool in my shop, I started with a cheap, used learner and then moved up to something a whole lot better. I also got it really cheap which doesn't hurt :). Subscribe to our email list for deals and promotions: Show more Show. It has taught me a lot, and really been a decent little lathe. 32 9.7K views 6 years ago Laguna Tools REVO 1836 Lathe Setup - Mount Head And Tailstocks - Part 4.
